FAQs

How did you come up with the story?

"This story is something personal to me since I also struggle with my religious identity and I drew from personal experiences with past relationships to write this story. We both were raised in Catholic Latiné households with the same belief systems and the same journey of questioning those systems." - Edwin Oliva (Writer/Director)

Why did you choose this project?

'Our culture and upbringing is something important we want to represent onscreen. The reason I'm going into producing is to invest in stories like these. Stories that showcase the Hispanic culture and community. Stories that will allow those growing up now to feel seen, heard, and understood." - Gabrielle Muñiz (Producer)

Why does this story need to be told?

This short is a fresh perspective on a coming of age story. It allows us to talk about how Latiné culture and religion play weighted roles in Hispanic youth’s perception of the world and their relationships growing up. It’s a film about self-discovery, self-reflection, and self-acceptance in a community that doesn’t get represented that often in American media.
